Master Bath Remodel

If I could ask one question to the folks back in the day it would be….

Why the carpet in the bathroom? This phenomenon will always confuse me.

I mean, I can see how it would be cozy, warm, and you wouldn’t need to wipe your feet but wow…what creature is growing underneath that substrate?!

Anywho…

We are working on a house remodel project and the first thing on the priority list is the Master Bathroom Remodel. And guess what…it has carpet!

The Goals…

  • Get rid of the carpet
  • Free Standing Tub
  • Update Tile and Fixtures
  • Walk-in Shower
  • Close off Toilet Area

The Master Bathroom Design

The Current Situation…in case you missed it…look at that cozy carpet. Honestly, it isn’t looking too bad.

The Floor Plan

When designing this space, we first started looking at the layout. We wanted to open the bathroom up so it didn’t feel so closed off yet keep the private spaces…well “private”.

Project Inspo-Mood Board

I always love a good mood board. It gives me inspiration for the design and some direction. With this project, I am using a neutral palette but adding in lots of textures.

The Design

We had a lot of space to work with so that was a plus! We were able to accomplish all of our goals for the project.

My favorite part of this bathroom…the arched shower walk-thru. Arches will forever have my heart. When I was playing around with the finishes, I added in arched mirrors and the shower door was just asking for a matching arch. The contractor thanked me. 🙂

I also love how all the textures of the materials play off of one another. We have a perfect mix of warm and cools.
